Who we are
OnnaMission began with nothing but a few college students, $20, and a pizza box. We were students at Emory University who saw people sleeping on the streets every night and decided to stop walking past them. So, we bought pizza. Then we bought more. And every weekend, we handed out slices to our unhoused neighbors in Atlanta. From that simple act of care, a movement was born. What started as a simple desire to help quickly became a mission—to make a difference in the lives of those who need it most. Today, we are OnnaMission, a dedicated team of volunteers, and a growing footprint in the city
Every Sunday, our team of volunteers prepare 50 meals, and personally distribute them to immobile individuals experiencing homelessness in Midtown Atlanta, Downtown Atlanta, and Decatur. It’s more than just providing food—it’s about showing up, offering dignity, and making sure people know they’re seen and cared for.
We also manage a directory of essential resources tailored to individual circumstances—whether it’s single parents seeking shelter, individuals searching for affordable housing, or those navigating social services. Through this, we aim to connect people with the help they need.
At our core, we believe in compassion, community, and action. We started small, but every meal, every conversation, and every resource shared is a step toward real change.
